Underwater world of nature is extremely diverse and inspiring, therefore I do not specialize only on one view of its area. My favorite theme is the interaction of humans with an aquatic environment. When taking picture I cooperate not only with scuba-divers, but also freedivers led by world record champion Martin Stepanek, and also with Aquabelles. Another area that brings me satisfaction is cooperation with the diving bases and tourist centres to submit their destinations. It is a challenge for me to bring good duality photographs from places where others are not confident. Only document does not attract me, my aim is to include certain intangible quality that does differs the image from the documentary record.
As one African ecologist said, people protect only what they know. Through my images, people can get the knowledge of the underwater nature. This gives another dimension to my work ...
I started diving in 1994 and photographing underwater two years later. Nowadays my photos and articles are published in magazines, newspapers, books, localy and also abroad. I participate in expeditions for diving magazines, I am invited as a photographer to a different destinations. My images are being shown on National Geographic Web site, the Web site dedicated to diving and freediving, on Web sites of diving basis, travel agencies, and are part of the various DVD. I cooperate with the National Museum in Prague, Academy of Sciences and Faculty of Natural Science of Charles University. I have organized a couple of exhibitions with my large-format images. With successes in competitions I do not show off deliberately. As the author of a underwater shooting training packet I run photography courses. As a certified diving instructor within ProTec I run scuba-diving courses.
